Our Beneficiaries

The Box Smart Foundation is proud to announce the beneficiaries for the 2020 Fight for Education.  Each beneficiary has been carefully selected and chosen in order to make a significant contribution to education initiatives from early childhood development to secondary school bursaries.

The Box Smart Foundation will be fighting to raise funds for the following organizations:

Community Assisting Schools (“CAS“)

CAS provides much-needed support by working with various schools which are struggling as a result of:

  • Minimal financial government assistance;
  • A lack of funding;
  • Declining fee paying student body;
  • Uninvolved parent bodies.

In addition, the social issues that plague society are evident in the student body of CAS supported schools including:

  • Child-led households;
  • Malnourishment;
  • Poverty;
  • Personal experience with HIV/AIDS;
  • Domestic abuse.

The CAS approach is pragmatic in its delivery of sustainable solutions to the schools that it seeks to assist.  CAS has the following core objectives:

  • To support the leadership, teachers and pupils within the schools;
  • To assist in building an educational foundation that will deliver the appropriate levels of learning amongst pupils;
  • To help facilitate the restoration, maintenance and upgrading of a school’s facilities to allow for an environment that is conducive to learning
  • To involve communities surrounding schools to assist in building a positive and collegiate social conscience
  • To put in place strategies that will allow these schools to become self-sustaining and viable
  • Develop a framework/blueprint where the CAS model can be delivered by communities in other areas/regions across South Africa
